Spinal Fusion surgery- ITS TIME!

Well, we knew the time would come- but we had not thought it would come so soon. Wynter had her tonsils and adenoids out last week in preparation for her upcoming CO-C2 fusion surgery up in Philadelphia.  We found out that 1. She does not come off Anesthesia well at all and 2. She gets a raging bladder infection very quickly. Two good things to know as we move towards the upcoming TEN hour surgery.  

For those of you who don't know, Wynter has a very rare instability from her skull to her C1 vertebrae- that could severe her spinal cord at any moment. Thank you all for your prayers for her safety this far! We have a lot to prepare for in only 7 short weeks....It looks like we will fly to Philly on March 6th, check into the hospital March 7th, for surgery on Friday March 8th.  Wynter will be in the ICU, and we will be in the hospital for about a week- then stay close by for another 9 days or so, until we get a clearance to fly back home hopefully on the 23rd.  I will keep everyone as updated as I can here on the blog. This week I am putting packets together for family and friends to take to their churches/ employers/ friends/ organizations to help raise money for all the associated needs and costs.
